Recently, I started watching an anime series called Mushi-shi. It’s another short anime, with a total of 26 episodes, and was so good that I finished it within two or so days.

Plot Summary: They are neither plants nor animals. They differ from other forms of life such as the micro-organisms and the fungi. Instead they resemble the primeval body of life and are generally known as “Mushi”. Their existence and appearance are unknown to many and only a limited number of humans are aware of them. Ginko is a “Mushi-shi” who travels around to investigate and find out more about the “Mushi”. In the process, he also lends a helping hand to people who face problems with supernatural occurances which may be related to the “Mushi”.
– AnimeNewsNetwork

It’s rare to find short animes that leave you satisfied. The final episode of the anime wasn’t the best, but because of how each episode can be watched without seeing the previous ones, it doesn’t really matter since they don’t have some huge climax waiting for you or anything. I’m a big fan of the supernatural and this really did it for me…lol Watch it! I personally saw it dubbed since this allows me to multitask better (not having to read a screen is nice) and the dubbing was great.

I just finished watching the anime series called Great Teacher Onizuka. Surprisingly, it was great! Unfortunately, it was only 43 episodes long. It’s available both dubbed and subbed and actually has good dubbing, something that some animes lack. It was very funny and just overall a great watch. Here’s the plot (taken from AnimeNewsNetwork):

Onizuka is an ex-biker and gang leader who has one goal, to become the greatest teacher. He learns of the power and respect possible as an intern teacher, using his strength and connections to get his students to respect him. Now, graduated, he gets a job at a prestigious private school to handle their ‘problem class’ that made the past few teachers quit. He must handle a different sort of trouble when the trouble makers include some of the smartest kids in Japan who prefer a more cerebral approach to torturing their teacher. Onizuka must slowly win his students over and deal with their mistrust of teachers while handling the distrust of his fellow teachers.

I haven’t decided on a new anime to watch just yet…but I’ll mention it here when I figure it out (as always).

Mainly because of college winter vacation, I decided to start watching short anime series. Yesterday, I finished one entitled MoonPhase. It has only 26 episode. Anyway, I’m no good at descriptions, so I’ll post one from AnimeNewsNetwork:

Plot Summary: Photographer Kohei Morioka, while on assignment for a magazine devoted to the occult, enters a dark castle in Germany where he encounters a young vampire girl named Hazuki who tries to turn him into her servant. While Kohei doesn’t succumb to Hazuki’s will, he does set her free from the barrier keeping her in the castle. He is surprised to find her living with him in Japan.

My micro review: Though the anime had potential (I found it funny how they had a constant theme of pans falling on top of people’s heads) — it fell a bit short of being “good”. It’s a series that I would watch once and never again…Though it wasn’t bad, I can’t see how I’d be able to recommend it to anyone either. Oh well.

My next anime to watch (I’ve begun it already): Ghost Hunt

It’s available subbed and dubbed too for those who are too lazy to read captions or dislike them! It’s also only 25 episodes…so expect a micro review soon!

I have now finished watching all of Yu Yu Hakusho — a series I had started years ago but never finished. This anime was excellent. In fact, Bleach was accused of being a copy of Yu Yu Hakusho originally, though I personally do not think they’re too similar at all. It’s 112 episodes long and here’s some more info on it:

Genres: action, comedy, drama, supernatural, tournament
Age rating: Teenagers (May contain bloody violence, bad language, nudity)
Plot Summary: One day, 14 year old Yusuke Urameshi suddenly finds himself dead, having died pushing a child out of the way of oncoming traffic. Since he has such a bad personality, even the Spirit World was caught by surpise that he would sacrifice himself. Yusuke soon finds out he wasn’t supposed to die and has a chance for resurrection and bringing his body back to life. After being resurrected, Yusuke becomes a Spirit Detective, along with his comrades, and one adventure after another happens, whether it be an investigation or a fighting tournament.

It would be weird to see Goku talking in Japanese for me since I’ve only seen Dragon Ball / Dragon Ball Z dubbed

Like many people, I enjoy my fair share of anime. I’m interested in all anime types so often I explore animes I’ve never even heard of. Black Lagoon was one of these animes. It was recommended to me by someone who goes by Public…It was so good that I feel compelled to make this post about it. That anime is on a whole different level when compared to others. Truly excellent. It’s not an anime for kids though — lots of blood shed, cursing, and so forth. As it stands, there are only 2 seasons. This means a whopping total of 24 episodes only. Season 3 is currently being worked on, but in the mean time, if you haven’t seen this anime, I highly advise you do. You can watch it dubbed or subbed. The dubbing is actually good for this one so either way you’ll end up with a good anime
