So as some of you may know, I am a lover of most things HTC (a company that makes smartphones). Anyway, the HTC Titan normally is upgradeable only to Windows Mobile 6.1. Although better than 6.0, it is still lacking some sexiness that Windows Mobile 6.5 has to offer…Therefore, I decided it was finally time to flash my phone. One thing lead to another — and bam, done. I must say I’m pretty happy with it. It is MUCH more finger friendly (the stylus will cry about this one) which is nice, especially since the screen of the Titan isn’t small. It is a tad bit slower, but that’s because of the GUI and all the stuff that it comes with. It isn’t significantly slower though, therefore the tradeoff is minimal. Windows Mobile 6.5 would run even better on a newer HTC phone, such as the HTC Touch Pro or HTC Touch Pro 2 — which will be offering this OS as an upgrade for users in the near future. The HTC Touch Pro 1 has the same amount of ram and same clockspeed as the Touch Pro 2 (but different hardware). Clearly, this makes it obvious that it can handle 6.5 and SHOULD have been offered to these users, but they’ll just have to check out XDA or another HTC-loving website+forum for details on flashing without HTC’s help.
